El Salvador Trip Pictures #2

Here is the second addition of photos from our trip to El Salvador in 2011. These were taken on New Years Eve of 2011, I wish I had more because the party got crazier. The bolos came and they danced their drunken butts off and my uncle burnt his face by accident with one of the fireworks.
I was trying to help my brother brake open the piñata. My abuela
(pictured to the right) had gotten this piñata for my brother and
a dora piñata for one of my little cousins.
My sister and I.

My mami, sister and dad (my sister looks hilarious).

I had my laptop In hand, so i finally got to typing.

My last blog post was in november, I hope you guy weren't thinking 'is he dead?'. Well I'm not so great at constantly writing blog posts, I'm lazy and a huge procrastinator! Sorry for having to keep you guys waiting for 3 months.
Hurricane Sandy came and left, swaying our casita from side to side. It wasn't the best experience. At times I thought that the windows were going to burst open or that the house was going to topple over. Some of my dad's family came to stay with us over night while the storm passed, it wasn't so bad, except for the fact that the power went out! We were without hot water and power for 2 weeks (gracias LIPA)! Also, my sister and I didn't go to school for those 2 weeks, but the state took our winter brake (damn you NYS).
Moving on to something more positive, I am almost finished with my freshman year in high school, just 3 more months (well technically 4)! I am very proud of myself because this year I got some of my highest grades ever! My current average is a 94 and I am in the High Honor-roll (I am not gloating). We all ready made our schedules for 10th grade, so these are the classes I will be taking next year:
English 10 Honors
Trigonometry/Algebra
Spanish 3 Honors
Painting and Drawing
Health
Culinary Arts
Global History 2 Honors
Chemistry
Physical Ed.
I will not be taking lunch next year, just to fit in an extra class.

I guess I'm done for today mi gente, hopefully I'll post again very soon.
Adios or as we say in El Salvador 'Salú'.

El Salvador Trip Pictures #1

So I have decide to show ustedes my pictures from our trip to El Salvador back in December 2011. It was a fun trip, but we did have our ups and downs. Also, my nerves were up for the first week because my cousin and I had to learn a dance routine (which we didn't and up dancing) for her quinceañera, it was fun though and I totally felt appreciated since I was her chambelan de honor. Here we are at the airport in NY:
Lol, my brother, sister and aunt
Awkward? My dad.

Spanish Friday Translation

So, I apologize my friends, I have been very lazy, since it’s summer and theres no school, I can wake up late. A lot has happened since the last time I made a blog entry, I graduated 8th grade, I went to prom,I went to a sweet fifteen, I went to Splish-Splash (a water park), etc, etc. But, sadly, almost all of the days have been VERY BORING, it makes me sick because I always tell my parents “lets go to the beach (my mom doesn’t like the beach), let’s go to the museum, lets go to the zoo.......,” and my dad always says “hopefully this boy is going to be a doctor.” This man! I’m going to make another blog entry soon (hopefully), have a good day and a fantastic summer!

Spanish Friday

Todays spanish friday (I may translate it soon, but it takes a lot of work and I hate google translate):

So today a few of us kids went to a trip for spanish class, we went to a restaurant called Buenos Aires Tango. ¡Qué chido! Right? O.M.G, I had an empanda as an appetizer and it was delicious, WAY different then the Colombian ones. As a main course I had grilled chicken with rice and french fires and flan for dessert! Before the main course was served, we learned the basic steps of tango and it was fun! The steps are easy, just UNO, DOS, TRES, CUATRO, CINCO, SEIS y ¡Olé! A lot of the people that I danced with told me that I was the best partner they had had! A little while before we started heading back, they put on bachata, merengue and salsa, now this I'm used to! My spanish teacher took me out to dance, how nice of her! Then I danced some bachata with one of the other teachers. The train ride was the usual, noisy ghetto (or as I should say ratchet, which means ghetto and is really starting to catch on in NY) KAPPA VI kids, oh how I'll miss them!
